Welcome to Year 5 at Northbrook Primary Academy
Here in Year 5 we love to learn! We never give up, try our best in everything we do and make the most of exciting opportunities that come our way. We explore new topics as well as continuing to progress in our reading, writing and mathematics.
Throughout the year, the children will learn about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings, spectacular space, Ancient Greeks, Crime and Punishment and much more. We also have specialist teachers for both Spanish and P.E.
In Year 5, we nurture and care for each other and focus on becoming good citizens as well as being good role models around school and in the wider community. We take pride in what we do and work hard but also have fun along the way!

On Tuesdays, we will have our PE session, in the form of swimming lessons. Our second PE session will be on Wednesday afternoons.

Year 5 Homework 2024-25
Homework will be set on a Thursday to be completed by the following Thursday. In the first instance this will be paper based homework, and will reflect the learning we do in class, therefore children should be able to complete with a little support from you. The expectation is that children complete the homework tasks weekly and books are returned promptly by each Thursday, children are expected to present their homework well.
In addition to homework set, children must read at least 3 times per week, this can be a combination of a variety of books.
